01About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Winkpass Creations, Inc. (“Winkpass”, “we”, “us”) handles information collected through the iPeriod apps, including iPeriod Period Tracker + and iPeriod Lite (the “App”) and related services, including account backup and sync, reminders, email alerts, the community forum and this website (together, the “Services”).

We value your privacy and are dedicated to protecting your information, telling you clearly how it is collected and used, and giving you a choice about any marketing or promotional contact from us. By using the Services you agree to this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Services.

02What we collect

You can use most of iPeriod without creating an account. In that case, what you enter stays on your device. We collect the following only when it applies to how you use the App:

Information you give us

  • Account details. If you create an account, your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in readable form.
  • Profile details. Optional information such as gender, height, weight and birth year, used to power features like predictions and charts.
  • Cycle & health entries. The periods, flow, fertility signs, basal body temperature, moods, symptoms, weight, notes, reminders and other entries you record.
  • Communications. If you contact us, the information you choose to include, such as your name, email and message. You’re welcome to send feedback from an email address that doesn’t identify you.

Backup & sync

If you sign in, the data you enter is periodically backed up over an encrypted connection and stored, encrypted, on our servers so you can restore it after losing or replacing a phone and keep your devices in sync.

Information collected automatically

  • Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data (for example, device model, operating system, app version and the state of the app when a problem occurred).
  • Usage data. Aggregate information about how features are used, such as which screens are opened. This is collected in a form that is not linked to your identity and is used only to improve the App.
  • Server logs. When the App or this website contacts our servers, standard log information is recorded, such as IP address, request time and the type of request, and is used for security and troubleshooting.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of what you’ve purchased so we can unlock features, but we never receive your payment card details.

Advertising in iPeriod Lite

iPeriod Lite is supported by ads. Our advertising partners (listed below) may collect your device’s advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking when iOS asks), IP address, general device information and how you interact with ads, in order to show and measure ads.

Ads never see your health data. Your cycle, symptom, fertility and Apple Health entries are never shared with advertising partners. The paid iPeriod app and Premium subscriptions don’t show ads.

03Apple Health

With your permission, iPeriod can read from and write to Apple Health, for example periods, weight, basal body temperature and activity. You choose exactly which categories to allow, and you can change this at any time in the iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → iPeriod.

  • Health data is used only to provide iPeriod’s health and fitness features to you.
  • It is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and is never sold.
  • It is never disclosed to third parties without your explicit permission, other than the service providers that help us run the features you use.

04How we use information

  • To provide the App’s features, including predictions, calendars, charts and reports.
  • To create and secure your account, and to back up, restore and sync your data.
  • To send the reminders, notifications and email alerts you turn on.
  • To send account and service messages, and occasional news about iPeriod and other Winkpass apps. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To respond to your questions and feedback.
  • To diagnose and fix problems, and to measure and improve performance and reliability.
  • To develop and test new features.
  • To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, security and technical issues, and to comply with the law.

05When we share information

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred or given to any other company without your consent, except in these limited cases:

  • Service providers. Trusted companies that host, secure and operate the Services on our behalf, listed below. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
  • Advertising partners (iPeriod Lite only). The advertising and measurement information described above, handled under the partners’ own privacy policies. Health data is never included.
  • Legal requirements. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, valid legal process or an enforceable governmental request, or is necessary to prevent injury or property damage. We review each request carefully and disclose only what is required.
  • Protecting the Services. To enforce our End-User License Agreement, including investigating potential violations, and to detect or prevent fraud, security or technical issues.
  • Business transfers. If Winkpass is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we will ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved and give reasonable notice, on this website or in an App update, before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • When you choose to share. The App lets you create reports and exports of your data. Anything you choose to send to a doctor, partner or anyone else is under your control, and Winkpass isn’t responsible for how the recipient handles it.

06Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the Services. Each has its own privacy policy:

Occasionally we may mention third-party products or services in the App. Those have separate, independent privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

07Community forum

If you join the iPeriod community, your profile name, picture, posts, replies and likes are visible to other members. Please don’t post anything you want to keep private. You can report posts that concern you from within the forum.

08Security

We use a variety of safeguards to protect your information. Data is transmitted using TLS encryption and stored encrypted on servers operated by Google as part of its cloud hosting service. Access is limited to people who need it to operate the Services. You can also protect the App itself with a startup passcode, Face ID or Touch ID.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

09Retention & deletion

We keep account and backup data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we permanently delete your account and backed-up data from our active systems, except where we must keep limited information to meet legal obligations. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the App.

To delete your data, use the feedback link in the App under Settings, or email privacy@winkpass.com from the address associated with your account.

10Your choices & rights

  • Access & correction. You can view and edit your information in the App at any time.
  • Export. Create a report of your data from Settings → Share.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete your account and data as described above.
  • Email. Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email; turn email alerts off in the App.
  • Notifications & permissions. Manage notifications and Apple Health access in iOS Settings.
  • Ads. In iPeriod Lite, you can stop ad tracking by declining the tracking prompt or turning off Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Upgrading removes ads entirely.

We won’t discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

11Regional disclosures

European Economic Area, UK & Switzerland

We process information about you only where we have a legal basis to do so: where it’s needed to provide the Services you request; where you have given consent (for example, to Apple Health access or health data processing); where it’s needed to comply with a legal obligation; or where it serves a legitimate interest that isn’t overridden by your data-protection interests, such as keeping the Services secure and improving them.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Your information may be processed in the United States; where required we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.

California

We don’t sell personal information for money, and we never sell or share health data. Because iPeriod Lite shows ads, our advertising partners’ use of device identifiers and ad-interaction data may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you can opt out using the iOS tracking controls described above, or by contacting us. We don’t use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond providing the Services. California residents may request to know, access, correct or delete their personal information. In line with the California Online Privacy Protection Act, you may update your information at any time in the App. Because there is no common industry standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, we rely on the iOS tracking controls instead.

Washington, Nevada & other consumer health data laws

Cycle, fertility, symptom and similar entries may be “consumer health data” under laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act. We collect it only to provide the features you use, we never sell it, and we share it only as described in this policy. You may request access to or deletion of your consumer health data, and a list of the third parties it has been shared with, by contacting us.

12Children

iPeriod is intended for people aged 13 and older. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. If the changes are significant, we will give you additional notice, for example in the App. This policy applies only to information collected through the Services, not information collected offline.

14Contact us

Questions about this policy, or requests to access or delete your data, can be sent to our data protection officer. You can also use the feedback link in the App under Settings.
